CSET asks about geography across two continents. Anchor each author and cultural tradition spatially using a map of Spain and Latin America.
Know each movement's defining characteristics, key authors, and historical context. You'll be asked to identify unfamiliar works by movement more than by author.
Read passages from Don Quixote, Lorca's poetry, Cien años de soledad, and Borges's Ficciones. Passage-based questions require real close-reading practice.
Know major artists (Velázquez, Goya, Picasso, Rivera, Kahlo) and musicians (Albéniz, Falla) and their connections to literary movements.
Aim for under 2 minutes per question. For scenario questions, eliminate implausible answers first to save time.
The real exam weights Literary and Cultural Texts and Traditions and Cultural Analysis and Comparisons equally. Don't over-study literary trivia at the expense of historical and cultural context — analysis and comparison matter as much as recall.
